Review: Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation

As you may already know, I've always been quite keen on medium-to-full coverage liquid foundations, so when I first heard about Bourjois' Healthy Mix Foundation I wasn't really head over heels for the idea of trying it out. Luckily enough, Bourjois came up with a double of this foundation in the form of a Serum with more coverage and more lasting ability.

Shall we look at what the product claims to do?
Instant blendability, flawless complexion, undetectable coverage, vitamin-rich, hypoallergenic, coverage: 1/3, 16 hrs radiance-boosting, evens skin tone, instant anti-fatigue

Personal Feedback:
-Instant Blendability: Yes, definitely very easy to blend (brush, dry sponge, damp sponge etc).
-Flawless Complexion: I believe Bourjois went a little overboard with this description, as a foundation is supposed to even out the skin tone. However, a truly flawless complexion is achieved via shades (bronzer, highlighter, blusher etc).
-Undetectable Coverage: Is there such foundation that is undetectable? No, not really. But this one does come really close to it! Looks utterly natural.
-Vitamin-rish: I can't really be the judge of that, but I suppose we can take their word for it.
-Hypoallergenic: My skin is extremely sentsitive and this foundation has not broken me out, so I would have to say yes.
-16 hrs radiance-boosting: It does look flawless for approximately 5-6hrs, but from then on, if sweat is present, it simply falls apart.
-Evens skin tone: Yes, as most foundations do...
-Instant anti-fatigue: It didn't particularly mess with my energy levels, but it did make my skin appear less tired, as I have really pale skin and I tend to look dead/ill most of the time.

Other Info:
-It has great smell to it. Fruits & Berries! Yum-yum!
-Definitely Demimatte finish. If you don't set it with transluscent/press powder, it will look sort of dewy, but if you do - it will go matte.
-I LOVE how precise the pump is, it is simply brilliant!
-I dislike how easily the cap comes off. Honestly, I am scared to put it in my bag when I go out... You know, for touch-ups on the go!
-Really compact size and shape. Really lovely.
-What I also dislike and what is generally inherent for most foundations is that it rubs off easily and has a high level of transition. Regardless of whether I have set it with a setting spray and/or powder, one blow of my nose and it comes off.

All in all, I would give it 8/10. I love using it, because it easy to apply and easy to take-off at night. It gives me a natural finish and still retaining it's medium coverage.

I hope you found this article useful!

  2. I am glad you liked the review! I know I'm (a tad) late replying to but if you happen to set your eyes on a foundation, have in mind that you can always e-mail/comment on my blog to ask me for personal opinion. There are a few of the most generic ones that I haven't blogged about, due to the already existing abundance of reviews, but still :)
